We had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Sunny on Christmas day. She turned 16 on December 15th, 2023. Sunny brought us years of happy memories. She will be missed.

Dear family and friends,
I am so sad to tell you that I said good-bye to my humans on Christmas day. They were so sad and there were a lot of tears. I cried on the inside, too.
But, like someone texted my people, they took such great care of me and I know that's why I made it to 16 y/o.
I'm glad I was at home in my bed when I said good-bye. And I was extra happy that my buddy Kaleigh Wright was there because I know she lives in Boston now. I even wagged my tail when I heard her voice yesterday.
Keep my people in your thoughts as they navigate their world without me and my wet kisses, waggy tail, nose nudges on their knees to show thanks.
They're gonna miss looking out the window and seeing me in the yard. Oh and I'll miss them coming to my side. They were always there when I needed them.
Gosh, the pats on the head. The soft strokes of the area between my eyes.
I won't be on their Blink camera anymore. I could hear them saying how empty they would feel without me around.
They were the best humans ever. I'll always remember picking THEM at Sterling Shelter in 2008 when I was four months old. I just knew they were my people.
For sure, I was so sad I had to leave them yesterday, but I was so happy I knew what true love was.
Thanks to all my friends who helped take care of me, too. You know who you are. Neighbors, Kaleigh's friends. There are lots of you. I felt your love and tucked it in my heart to take it with me.
I like how my human mommy said it was kind of perfect that I leave on Christmas because that's a day of gifts and I was the most amazing gift for them through the years. That made me feel good.
Okay, I need to go find Grammy Peggy. I really liked her a lot.
My people will always be in my heart and I, Sunny Dee Wright, will always be in theirs. Forever! ??????
